Coming from a largely Southern Baptist background ( which I left because I got tired of their condemnatory background ) I appreciate your efforts, Peter. The ability to do research is a laudable attribute.
You are very welcome. It is really a joy to me, and I hope I can up the rate of it. And we really need to get through the condemnatory side of Christianity. Yes, The purgative way is important, but you are supposed to get through it into the Illuminative and Unitive.
I have a cousin who belongs to the Church of Christ, & they are so stodgy, squelching critical thinking & " normal " intellectual development that it's APPALLING ! My cousin votes for candidates based on their personal faith & likely picks doctors based on that criteria. I reiterate, APPALLING.
I know exactly what you mean. I spend entirely too much time on X arguing with that sort. As if the Word of God was your bitcoin private key, and you need to type it in just right.
I gave up most organized religion as a result. When I joined the Baptist church, I still read about Buddhism, Zen ( which is almost in a category of its own ), Hinduism, Bahai, Zoroastrian / Parsi, SUFI, Egyptian belief, etc.
I like your thinking on hierarchy and order. Never really thought of it this way, so this is a great find. Thank you. Hope you're well this week? Cheers, -Thalia
This is so MUCH RESEARCH that I'd be FOOLISH not to keep it as a resource. & I thought that I could " deep dive ".I'm impressed. Keeping it !
Salud ! ( Used up my exclamation point allotment already )
Thanks so much! It only took me 15 years of serious Catholic-ing. lol
